Time Rate of Consumption
Fire consumption models and comparisons.
Models to compare
FIRST ORDER FIRE EFFECTS MODEL (FOFEM)
Fuel consumption calculations from the FOFEM model. FOFEM uses a physical model of heat transfer and burning rate of woody fuels as they interact over the duration of a burn.
- in the process of being implemented in the BlueSky Framework
Fire Emissions Production Simulator (FEPS)
The Fire Emission Production Simulator (FEPS) generates temporal profiles that are used to calculate hourly consumption rates. Only appropriate for prescribed burns.
- used as implemented in the BlueSky Framework
WRAP Wildfire Time Profile
The WRAP Wildfire profile was developed from data by Air Sciences in a report to the Western Regional Air Partnership (WRAP) to meet the needs of modeling wildfires in the west for the EPA regional haze rule. Invokes a static time profile based on data. Only appropriate for wildfires.
